An native of Atlanta, GA, Wendy Eley Jackson is a faculty member at U.C. Santa Barbara where she teaches Basic and Advanced Screenwriting  in Film & Media Studies and the College of Creative Studies.  She is also the Instructor for the television writing program at the Carsey-Wolf Center (Marcy Carsey, Producer (The Cosby Show, Roseanne) and Dick Wolf, Creator (Law & Order, Law & Order SUV, Chicago P.D., Chicago, Fire).

APRIL 5 & 8 - Week One

Story development.  Introduction, creation story, structure, tone & style, genre. creating a Bible.

APRIL 12 & 15 - Week Two

Character development.  Dynamic characters versus flat characters.  Who are they?  Developing character arcs.

​

April 19 &  22 - Week Three

Mock writer's room.  Writing the pilot.  Scene pitches and assignments

​

April 26 & 29 - Week Four

Completion of Pilot.  Completion of Bible

​

Students are able to submit their own personal projects for one-on-one advisory. Advisory is set through available times in 30 minute blocks.
